I would like to share a story with you my Sister and Brother Friends: One day I watched a small black ant desperately making its way across a sidewalk that people were walking on. The ant seemed to dodge the crushing shoes by instinct! Finally, a child innocently rode his bike over the ant and she was no more: Her journey and her story lost. This tragic life scene gave me a moment to ponder our way of being in the world. There are many personal stories, significant moments and things that we are simply unaware of. One contributing factor: We just don’t always pay attention or take in 95% of our subconscious environment! While “most” of us certainly do not go around purposefully hurting, diminishing or ignoring the needs and existence of others or the collective planet; but at times we still do! We say and do things in a non-conscientious way that can lead others to feel hurt, dismissed and in physical and emotional pain! More times than not, we are clueless that we did something dismissive, callus or wrong. Because of the ways most of our modern cultures function, we are mostly encouraged to be self-appointed and absorbed. If we are not careful, we walk through life only noticing, or focusing on, those things and people that demand we take notice (either via our enculturation or because they shout at us rudely or prolifically)! Yes, we are all guilty of not taking notice some of the time! Maybe paying attention to everything that is calling to us for compassionate recognition just takes too much energy and focus. Maybe there is so much going on that it is just too overwhelming to notice everything! So then, how do we successfully notice and appreciate all that is on our planet and in the Universes at large? How do we heal ourselves, our families, our world, if we are missing things? Now that I have once again brought this question to your attention; I invite you to come up with your own tools and techniques (mindfulness; prayer; meditation; affirmations; an “I noticed list”; keep a journal and others) for finding your successful resolution. The answer that I found my SisterFriends, goes beyond a simple surface understanding of “You heal yourself and others by taking notice”. The answer requires that you make a promise to reserve space in your heart-mind for the divine spark of existence in all others, and all things! By taking care to notice, we send out an energetic alert to others that this person or thing does exist; thus, deserving honor and acknowledgment. Remember: Whatever you notice often becomes your legacy for greatness, kindness, and healing. Written by Marie D. McCohnell

I just had a beautiful vision. I was sitting, praying, meditating and asking for support. I envisioned my tiny self, standing in front of the Red Sea. As the sea began to part, I began to grow. All of my belongings were in the sea on either side of me. As my body began to grow bigger and taller, I grew taller than the sea. I was bigger than I could ever imagine myself to be. As I continued to grow, I looked down, and the sea was no bigger than a shallow pond. I reached down into the water and gathered all of my things and placed them into my pockets. The water was no higher than my ankles. The lesson and message was that Divine Source could very well part the sea for me, but I could also grow bigger and stronger. It is like someone who almost drowns in shallow water. All they have to do, is stand up. They become so overwhelmed with the idea of the water and the fear of drowning – looking to be rescued – when all they have to do is stand up. I have the capacity to overcome these obstacles. I need to stand up. I have the capacity to grow bigger and stronger – high above my problems. Rather than being rescued like a small being who is afraid of the overwhelming waters on either side, I grew. I grew beyond my wildest imaginings. I grew taller than I ever thought I could. My perspective was different. I didn’t need rescuing. I became my own hero. I saw my circumstances differently. Grow me. Expand me. Raise me. Lift me – higher than I’ve ever been. Help me to scoop down into the shallow waters and retrieve my possessions. Don’t let them wash away. Grow me beyond my wildest imaginings. Help me to see myself the way you see me Divine Source. Help me to stand. I know EVERYTHING can change in a twinkling of an eye. Hide me in the shadow of your wings as I grow. There is nothing too hard for you. On this day, help me to expand and grow bigger than anything that I believe hinders or blocks me. You are the air and helium that animates me. You expand my soul. You give me the capacity to grow. Thank you. Today, I will stand taller. Stretching and knowing, I am much bigger than I think. Help me to see me as you see me. Help me to know me as you know me. Help me to not be afraid. Shift my mind, my heart and my soul. Help me to come out of hiding. There is nothing too hard for you. Grow me. Protect me. Keep me. Thank you. On this day, I will stand taller. I know that today, I will not drown. Written by Niambi Jaha-Echols
